Article 2: Presidential Candidates For ICA, RA, Y Slated / The slate of candidates for Recreation Association, YWCA and Interclub Association presidents announced at the Student Body meeting held last week. / Janet Bagg, Roberta Klar, Jane Showker and Sue Tait were nominated for ra PRESIDENT. Janet Bagg is a biology major from Pelham Manor, New York. She has participated in RA activities during her stay at MWC serving as Willard and Westmoreland representatives. She has also worked on the volleyball, lacrosse, social and Devil-Goat Day committees. Janet also has been a member of Ma Court, a class usher, a member of the YWCA and a handbook counsellor. Tabby deButts is her campaign manager. / Roberta Klar is a physical education major from Arlington. Actively participating in RA work, Roberta is the chairman of the dorm representatives and is on the Executive Council. She is also a member of the honor hockey and basketball teams and the Physical Education Club. Devon Olfield is serving as Roberta’s campaign manager. / Jane Showker, a psychology major from Craigsville, has served as the RA lacrosse committee chairman and as a member of the Honor basketball team. Martha Jones is Jane’s campaign manager. / Sue Tait has been active on several RA committees including volleyball, basketball, and the Devil-Goat Day committees. She also was a hall chairman and a handbook counsellor. She hails from Alexandria and is a chemistry major. Cathy Morrison is her campaign manager. / There are two candidates for the president of the YWCA, Barbara Kellan and Susan Solf. Barbara is a sociology major from Chariton. She has served as the vice president of the Methodist Student Fellowship and is a Freshman counsellor. Isle Gelinek is her campaign manager. / Susie Solf is a sociology major from Alexandria. She is presently the vice president of the Y and chairman of the activities for Religious Emphasis Week. Susie has also held the positions of secretary of Randolph and chairman of the YWCA Social Service Committee and is a member of Sigma Omega Chi. Sally Atkins is Susie’s campaign manager. / ICA nominees include Bena Ginsberg, Ann McCallum and Anne Raymond. The first candidate is Bena Ginsberg, a psychology major from Arlington. She has served as the publicity chairman of SEA, secretary and president of Hillel and is a member of IRC. Ann Watterson is her campaign manager. / Ann McCallum is a history major from For Eustis. She is presently president of the International Relations Club and a Freshman counsellor. Ann has also served as chairman of the Red Cross Blood Bank committee, Special Programs Committee and is a member of SEA. Her campaign manager is Anne Plummer. / The publicity week for the ICA, YWCA and the RA with buzz sessions in the dorms will be February 20-27. Speeches and elections will be held on February 25, and run-off elections are scheduled for February 28 when the results will also be announced.
