Article 1: College Echo / THE VIRGINIA HOME ECONOMICS ASSOCIATION / College Section / SPRING, 1965 / Mary Washington Junior Elected Veep / The Vice President of the College Chapter, VHEA, for 1965-66 is Miss Roberta James, better known as Robbie. She is a junior at Mary Washington College, majoring in Vocational Home Economics. Robbie’s main responsibility will be editing the College Echo. / Robbie hails from Purcellville in Loudoun County. She is the oldest in a family of three children. During high school she was active in the 4-H Club, Future Teachers of America, and Tri-Hi-Y. / Last year Robbie was selected as the winner of the Virginia Home Economists in Business Section of the Virginia Home Economics Association College Student Award. The selection was based on intellectual ability, leadership, personal qualities, character, and potential growth in the field of home economics. / What lies ahead for Robbie? Well, she plans to make a trip down the aisle to the altar and to teach home economics in high school. / It might be interesting to know that Robbies mother is a home economist.
