Item 1: THE TRUMPETER / A publication of/MWC Young Republicans / BOX 2464 COLLEGE STATION FREDERICKSBURG, VIRGINIA / December – January, 1968 / MASON GREEN TO SPEAK / The nest general meeting of the MWC Young Republicans will be held on January 11, 1968 at 6:45 in Monroe 21. Voting will take place on the constitutional amendments presented by the Platform and Legislation Committee at the last meeting. All Young Republicans must attend this meeting for this very important vote. The speaker for the meeting will b[e] Mason Green. Mason is the State Chairman of the Young Republican Federation of Virginia. His speech promises to be informative and the meeting will give all MWC YR’s an opportunity to meet personally with our State Chairman. / R. S. V. P. / Th[e] Mary Washington College Young Republicans have been asked to sponsor an R. S. V. P. or “Republican Speakers on Vital Problems” program in conjunction with the Republican Congressional Campaign Committee. The program is designed to present articulate Republican Congressmen to college audiences, enabling them to come into close personal contact with all aspects of university life. In addition to addressing the student body, the congressman will be on campus all day to talk to students MWC is one of more than 40 campuses selected throughout the country for this program and we will be sponsoring the program sometime in February so watch for further details. / LEADERSHIP TRAINING SCHOOL / The Young Republican National Federation is again sponsoring their annual Leadership Training school at the Sheraton Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. The dates set for the school are February 26 - March 1. Young Republicans from all over the country will be attending the school, and it promises to be one the best programs ever sponsored by the YRNF. Speakers throughout the week include: Senator Charles Percy, Governor Ronald Reagan, former Vice President Richard Nixon, Governor George Romney, former Senator Barry Goldwater, and many more leaders of the Republican Party.
