Item 1: ARTICLE V, SECTION 5 / (as presently presented for club approval) / The Executive Board shall elect delegates to represent the club at all conventions and all delegations shall vote under unit rule. / Proposed change: / ARTICLE VI * CONVENTIONS / Section 1 – The Executive Board and the general club membership shall each elect one-half of the delegation to represent the club at state, regional, and college YR conventions. / Section 2 – To be eligible to attend a convention as a voting delegate, the club member must submit a written statement indicating her interest to either the Executive Board or the general club membership, prior to such time as a vote is taken on the matter by either body. / Section 3 – Any club member not elected a voting delegate is eligible to go to any convention as an alternate. / Section 4 – The power to go under unit rule at a convention shall rest with the voting delegation. The vote of a simple majority of the delegation shall be sufficient to invoke unit rule. / POSSIBLE ALTERNATIVES TO SECTION 4: / 1. The power of a delegation to go under unit rule shall rest with the Executive Board. / 2. The power to go under unit rule shall rest with the voting delegation. The vote of three-fourths (two-thirds, etc.) of the delegation shall be sufficient to invoke unit rule.
